finally some good fucking rest
- got my 2024 spotify wrap and found out, shockingly, that i listen to a lot of the mountain goats
- watched a friend's tap dancing performance and saw some other cultural performances on the university i went to
- saw old friends again on a picnic that was postponed for a hundred years but finally happened
- finally had the experience of watching all 3 lord of the rings movies extended editions on a movie theater
- one monday, one tuesday and one wednesday. everytime i watch these movies i end up finding something more to love. this time i truly learned to love boromir
- learned how to make bolinho de arroz
- went to the beach! twice.
- celebrated christmas
- ate lemon pasta, tofu, empadão de palmito, and a doce de leite cake. also drank really good champagne
- got a kindle as a gift! so i can stop complaining about reading on my phone. i also got a boardgame as a gift from my sister that i've been really wanting to try out and a coat from my dad
- celebrated the new year
- i was going to binge watch movies with éden but we ended up only watching two movies - superbad and kinds of kindness. we started Us but didn't finish it
- ate empadão de palmito and canudinhos de maionese
input
games
- almost finishing red dead redemption 2
- this game is RIDICULOUS. i've never been a fan of hyperrealistic triple A games, but damn, they did it. they made a really good game. i love so many characters in this game, and there are others that i don't love, but i have feelings as strong and mixed as the ones i have for the ones i love (yes, i'm talking about dutch)
- playing tomodachi life
- had already started playing it on my 3ds before but something went wrong with my save file. started it again emulating it on my pc and i love the silly shit in this game. wish i had more real life friends to put them on my island
- playing neopets
- back to enjoying doing my dailies after getting a burlap usul and a dimentional uni through the lab ray. i also finally got ultimate riches on the bank, which was my second account objective! (first one being getting lab ray). i have this acount since 2014 but i haven't played consistently through the years, and now with 10 years in it, being able to win quite a bit on the food club, shits a lot easier. if you're reading this and play it feel free to add me!
- back to playing magic the gathering arena
- matheus helped me to create a good deck, and i had a bunch of wildcards saved up from when i had last played! it's fun when your deck is good
movies
- the three lords of the rings movies, extended versions
- the great happiness space: tale of an osaka love thief
- a documentary on host clubs. it's really interesting, and pretty sad
- a dog's will 2
- i had very low expectations. i thought it was fun! but the audio was VERY FUCKED, so bad that i could not enjoy the movie in some parts. the script is kind of weird as well in some moments. but i really enjoyed some of the costumes and i laughed a lot in the church sermon scene
- superbad
- watched it as a part of my new years celebration. i had already seen it many years before but i didnt remember almost anything. i have a very clear weak spot for slapstick because i laughed very loudly every time jonah hill got ran over by a car. i have not very acab feelings about bill hader in this movie
- kinds of kindness
- i sincerly did not expect to enjoy it, especially since i did not like the killing of a sacred deer at all (even though i want to rewatch it and give it another chance). but i loved all of it? i don't want to talk too much about it since i really enjoyed watching it without knowing anything about it, but i got mad at letterboxd reviews complaining about the movie just wanting to be edgy - it's not even edgy dude. sometimes you're too sensitive. what did you think was edgy about it?? murder??? something that's in idk almost every movie???
books
- continued reading wind and truth by brandon sanderson
- i'm enjoying it a lot, i'm a bit before the halfway point. really happy this one is focused on szeth, who i love
output
creating a secret santa gift. before i took my 'summer break', i finished a cutout scene i was taking way too long to finish.
